I called my bro-in-law last night. The sockeye are running and he went north last night to get our salmon. They will be put on ice and prepared same as last year. That means we need a team-building Fish Prep Party the eve we get there or the next night. We will need small, brown fish boxes and small blue tubs, I believe. SHARP filet knives high priority. I can borrow my mom's knife sharpener. We need better knives than our camp knives from last year.
You'll need to wear a hat and clothes you don't mind sliming. I'll look into using the fish cleaning tables next to our dorm-same spot as last year--minus the rebpublican governor candidate paying us a visit! Sonny is looking into storing the fish at Baranof Ice, his buyers, until we get there. Last year we had all staff and counselors involved in cutting and wrapping the salmon. There are running about 3-4 days early. We are getting same number as last year and I think it took us about 3 hours to clean them. Correct me if I am wrong. See you all Monday. ~Alberta
